Signature Services

Every structure is hand-sculpted from raw concrete — not assembled from prefabricated panels, GFRC molds, or stacked stone. Each surface is shaped, textured, and colored on-site to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

Hand-Sculpted Waterfalls

Multi-tier cascading waterfalls sculpted from 12,000psi fiber-reinforced concrete over a foam core armature. Basalt rebar eliminates rust. Every surface is hand-textured to replicate natural stone formations — seamless, monolithic, and engineered to withstand decades of water exposure.

Explore Waterfalls

Grotto Waterfalls

Walk-through cave environments with cascading water overhead, integrated LED lighting, bench seating, and natural ventilation. Grotto interiors are sculpted to replicate limestone cavern formations — stalactites, layered strata, and weathered edges — all from engineered concrete.

Polished Concrete Slides

A Boulder Legacies signature. Polished concrete pool slides are sculpted, shaped, and densified on-site — not bolted onto the deck. Integrated into waterfall and grotto structures for a seamless profile. Densification at the slide surface creates a smooth, durable finish rated for continuous water flow.

Fire Features

Custom-sculpted fire bowls, fire pits, and fire-and-water combination features — branded internally as "Fire Rocks." Each unit is hand-formed from the same 12,000psi shell used in our waterfall construction. Gas or propane integration. Designed to complement existing sculptural concrete environments.

Outdoor Living

Outdoor kitchens, sculpted seating walls, planters, moongates (circular stone archways), and address rocks — all hand-formed from concrete and integrated into the surrounding hardscape. Each element is sculpted to match the visual language of the primary water or fire feature on-site.

Signature Series

Tiered branded waterfall packages — Signature Small, Signature Large, and Signature Estate — providing a structured entry point for clients at different project scales. Every Signature Series build uses the same engineering standards as our fully custom work: foam core, 12,000psi shell, basalt rebar, and hand-sculpted finishes.

The Boulder Legacies Difference

Most waterfall companies install prefabricated GFRC panels — glass fiber reinforced concrete sheets molded in a factory, shipped flat, and bolted together on-site. Others stack natural rock with mortar joints that crack, shift, and leak within years. Both approaches produce visible seams, predictable shapes, and structures limited by the mold or the stone.

Boulder Legacies hand-sculpts every surface from raw cementitious material directly on a custom foam core armature. Our shell is a 12,000psi fiber-reinforced cementitious compound — roughly three times the compressive strength of standard residential concrete. Decorative Type S mortar is applied in layers from 0.5 to 5 inches thick, sculpted by hand to replicate the organic irregularities of natural stone: grain, fracture lines, weathering patterns, and lichen texture.

Where conventional builders use steel rebar, we use basalt rebar. Steel rusts. Rust expands. Expansion cracks concrete from the inside out — often within 15 to 20 years in wet environments. Basalt fiber is inert to water and chlorine. It does not corrode. The structure remains monolithic for the life of the installation.

Every project begins with a physical 1:12 scale maquette — a hand-sculpted clay model where 1 inch equals 1 foot in the final build. You approve the design in three dimensions before a single load of concrete is mixed.

From Vision to Reality

Every Boulder Legacies project follows a structured four-phase process designed to eliminate guesswork and deliver a precise, engineered result. No surprises. No scope creep. You see the build in miniature before construction begins.

Design Investment

A $2,000 commitment initiates the creative process — site consultation, measurements, and engineering evaluation. Applied in full to your project cost.

Maquette Creation

Within 7–10 days, we hand-sculpt a physical 1:12 scale clay model. You review, revise, and approve the design in three dimensions.

Construction

Foam core armatures shaped on-site. 12,000psi shell applied, followed by mortar sculpting, coloring, waterproofing, and densification.

Final Reveal

Complete walkthrough. Plumbing tested, lighting calibrated, every surface inspected. Maintenance guide delivered for your installation.

What Our Clients Say

“Lucas and his team turned our plain pool into something you’d see in a resort. The grotto and waterfall are absolutely incredible — guests always ask if it’s real rock. Highly recommend Boulder Legacies.”

Jason F. Pool Grotto & Waterfall

“The polished concrete slide Lucas built for us is the centerpiece of our backyard. Our kids (and honestly, the adults too) can’t get enough of it. The craftsmanship is on another level.”

Michael H. Polished Concrete Slide

“From the first clay model to the finished waterfall, the whole process was transparent and professional. Lucas took our vague idea and sculpted something we never could have imagined.”

Service Areas

Boulder Legacies is based in Southern Missouri and operates nationally. Our team travels for projects across the Midwest and into major metropolitan markets — from the Ozarks to the Southwest. If you have the vision, we bring the concrete.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most Boulder Legacies projects range from $20,000 to $75,000+, depending on scale, complexity, and site conditions. A standalone pool waterfall typically starts around $20K. Full grotto environments with integrated slides, fire features, and outdoor living elements can exceed $75K. Every project begins with a $2,000 Design Investment that covers site evaluation, 1:12 scale maquette creation, and detailed engineering. That $2,000 is applied in full to your total project cost if you move forward.

A maquette is a physical 1:12 scale clay model of your project — meaning 1 inch on the model equals 1 foot in the final build. We hand-sculpt each maquette within 7 to 10 days of the initial site evaluation. You review the model, request any revisions, and approve the design in three dimensions before construction begins. Unlike computer renderings, a maquette gives you a tangible, accurate preview of every angle, contour, and proportion of the finished structure.

Yes. Boulder Legacies operates nationally. While our base is in Southern Missouri (Ozarks region), we regularly travel for projects across the country — including Scottsdale, Austin, San Diego, Nashville, Dallas, and Las Vegas. Travel logistics, lodging, and timeline are planned during the Design Investment phase and transparently factored into the project scope. We have previously built extensively in the Tampa Bay / Florida market and continue to serve clients wherever the project warrants our presence.

Most waterfall companies install prefabricated GFRC panels (factory-molded sheets bolted together on-site) or stack natural rock with mortar joints. Both methods produce visible seams, limited shapes, and structures prone to cracking or shifting over time. Boulder Legacies hand-sculpts every surface from raw concrete. Our shell uses 12,000psi fiber-reinforced cementitious material — approximately three times the strength of standard residential concrete. We reinforce with basalt rebar instead of steel, which eliminates the rust-expansion cycle that cracks conventional concrete builds within 15 to 20 years. Every project also includes a physical 1:12 maquette — not a computer rendering.

The Design Investment is a $2,000 commitment that initiates the creative and engineering process. It covers a detailed site consultation, precise measurements, soil and structural evaluation, and the hand-sculpted creation of a 1:12 scale clay maquette of your project. This investment is applied in full to your total project cost if you proceed to construction. The Design Investment ensures that both parties are committed before significant engineering and fabrication resources are allocated — and it gives you a physical model to approve before any concrete is poured on-site.

Ready to Sculpt Your Vision?

Every Boulder Legacies project starts with a conversation about what you want to build — and a $2,000 Design Investment that turns that conversation into a physical maquette. No generic estimates. No templated designs. Tell us what you are envisioning, and we will show you exactly what it looks like at 1:12 scale before a single load of concrete arrives on-site.
